Where Are Your Customers? Using SEO To Bring In The Hits

If you have to ask ‘where are you customers and why are they not visiting your website?’ then you may well need to go back to basics think about your current marketing strategy.

You may have had a beautiful website made. It looks great and the company logo really stands out. Each page reveals something fantastic about your business. You may have been very happy with the results from your web developer, and no doubt paid a nice price for it too. But if you’re sat waiting for the hits to start rolling in, you may be sat there for a very long time. They are not going to come just because you have a great looking website. You need a plan.

Search Engine Optimization

One of the most important areas that you should pay attention to when it comes to marketing your business is search engine optimization. This is a process where you ensure all of your content is written or displayed in a way that is favorable to search engines.

There are over 1.5 billion websites on the internet, and when the likes of Google get a search query, they have to compare all of the information about all of the known websites in an instant and put them in the order that it thinks is right for the person searching. It will be looking for a page that has the information or product that the user is searching for, that will load quickly on their device, and that is legitimate. It does not want to take any chances. With the success of their business reliant on sorting websites in this way, you need to know how to make your website fit into their way of working.

Use The Right Words

When you write anything for your site be it a web page, a product description, or a blog post, you need to use the right words. Users will be searching using specific words, and these will take them to your site if you have these words in your content. Find out what people are searching for and match your content to these needs. Do it in a way that does not seem forced though, as it needs to read well.

Make Sure Your Site Runs Well

People need to see what they are reading on your website. If your website does not load on their device, they will not stick around. If your website does not load within the first few seconds of clicking on it, they will find somewhere else that loads in less time. People want to visit a site that works for them and for that reason when your website is crawled by the search engines, speed tests will be run to make sure your site can cut it. If the crawler does not get the right speeds from you, then it will mean that your site does not end up at the top of the results page.
