Artificial Intelligence

It’s not quite Cyberdyne Systems - yet! But AI is starting to do some super things for business online, so much so that 84% of organisations asked in an online survey in 2020 said they would adopt the technology in some form just to be competitive in their marketplace. AI can read big data and perform analytics far more efficiently than a human can with machine learning software able to manage all aspects of a marketing campaign with statistical learning methods. Since 2018 they have managed to increase conversion rates by an impressive 22%, and it’s estimated that AI will increase global GDP by 14% by 2030.

Personalization

Through a variety of successful digital marketing campaigns certain brands have shown that personalization definitely works when it comes to advertising. A campaign created by Cadbury’s using confectionery industry statistics generated a 65% click-through rate and a 33.6% conversion rate with a personalized video campaign matching a Dairy Milk flavour with users based on their Facebook data: age, interests, and location. Similar campaigns have been run by Starbucks and EasyJet with comparable results. If you want to stand-out in 2020, you need to get personal.

Conversational Marketing

As marketers were all familiar with the work of copywriters, helping companies communicate with their customers in a friendly relatable way. This feature of marketing is starting to evolve as the year's collapse like dominoes. AI steps in again with conversational marketing to give customers an immediate response to questions and queries with a friendly human-sounding robot. This technology is available across multiple platforms allowing brands to communicate with customers on any device in a way that appeals to them. User experience is enhanced by feedback driven AI that fosters higher engagement and greater brand loyalty.

Chatbots

The chatbots are taking over. No really, they are! According to a Gartner survey 85% of customer service interactions will be handled by a chatbot in 2020. They are a form of AI that can be deployed in any industry online from banking to delivery services. When visitors arrive on a site a helpful chatbot will pop up to say hello and offer you any assistance. So far they seem popular with companies and consumers alike. They cut down on staff costs eliminating the need for someone to continuously monitor the website, and customers enjoy the efficient unbiased interface. It looks like the chatbots are here to stay - have you got yours?
