Giants To Win 2017 AFL?
The 2017 AFL season, the 121st
season of the Australian rules football competition, is just a little over 6
weeks away. As the countdown to the season begins, many experts as well as some
fans have started to put forth their predictions for the upcoming Australian
Football league season. Some back the Bulldogs to retain their crown while
others are predicting glory for the Giants. Which (if any) of these predictions
come true is something we’ll only know on Saturday 30th September,
the day of the final. Nonetheless, there is no harm in making early predictions
based on expert opinion and past performances of the teams.
Let’s start with the 2016 winners, the
Western Bulldogs. Based on their previous year’s performance, many people have
backed the Bulldogs to defend their crown. Have you bet the same? If yes then
here’s some useful info for you. If you discount the ages of Dale Morris,
Robert Murphy, and Matthew Boyd, the average age of the Bulldogs’ squad is
under 25. This means that the Bulldogs are likely to challenge for the crown
for many years to come. The current holders of the AFL title, the Bulldogs have
got great strength and depth in their squad and I won’t be surprised if they
win the VFL once again. Though, I predict them to finish runners up this time
around. Download

The next team that we’re going to discuss is
GWS Giants: last season’s surprise package. Many people are backing the Giants
to win the AFL in 2017 and become premiers
for the first time ever. There are many reasons people are backing the Giants
to win the 2017 AFL. First of all, the Giants don’t have any ‘weak’ link in
their squad. Secondly, young members of the team played extremely well last
season and they’re expected to get even better this season. Also, big things
are expected in AFL 2017 from Brett Deledio, the latest addition to the squad.
The Giants have pretty much kept the same squad from last year. The only
players who played last season but aren’t part of the squad in 2017 include the
now retired Joel Patfull and last season’s back up player Rhys Palmer.
The squad of GWS is massively experienced
as almost all the players belonging to the team have played 50 or more games in
the AFL. Considering the experience in the squad and how their young stars
performed last season, I’m backing
the GWS Giants to claim the premiership in 2017. Apart from the Bulldogs and
Giants, the other teams I think will do well in 2017 AFL include Sydney Swans,
West Coast, and Geelong. I expect the aforementioned teams to finish 3rd,
4th, and 5th.
You can predict whatever you want for the
upcoming AFL season but make sure that your predictions are based on expert
opinion and statistics. If you do that, you will increase your chances of
winning big when the AFL season finally concludes on Saturday, 30th
September.
