Most people can afford a better quality life than they realize. You may scoff at this idea, but it’s true. If you want to live a better quality of life you just need to know how to manage your money for a suitable budget. That’s not hard at all. In fact, you can fix up a quick budget to live in just under an hour. All you need to do is work out how much you make, how much you pay and how you can save. So, let’s start by thinking about how much you make.

How Much Do You Earn?

Most employees know roughly how much they make per year. For business owners or sole traders, but they too can make a rough calculation. However, ideally, what we want to know is how much you make each month. Doing this will depend on the type of job that you complete and how your pay is organized. Finding this out from a bi weekly pay can be quite difficult so use a conversion calculator for an accurate value. Once you have how much money you make per month, we can then start to think about your costs.

Costs Of Living

When you think about your costs, exclude anything you want for now. Just think about things that you need to pay or that you are obligated to pay each month. That’s going to include rent, bills, car tax, insurance and lots of other bills.

When you’re taking into account these costs, it’s always best to round up. That way, you’re essentially working on a worst case scenario. Or, if you’re looking at money coming into your account, round down. By doing this, you’ll always have more than you previously estimated. That’s a great position to be in.

Next, you need to think about the costs that you can and can’t change. For instance, your rent is fixed. Short of moving, you can’t alter how much you’ll need to pay on this each month. But bills are different, and they do tend to fluctuate. Think about your heating bill for instance. If you use your heating less, you’ll find the costs is a lot lower than it was previously. You can do this with a lot of your bills, and you should work on reducing most of them. Even just price checking could ultimately save you a lot of money.

Buying Things, You Want

Wants and desires make life difficult to afford. They are often more expensive than we would like. For instance, you might love to go on a luxury holiday. But you could afford to spend the typical four or five grand to have everything included. Or, can you? It depends on when you buy and what you buy. For instance, if you buy on Black Friday, you’ll find cheap holidays on sale. There are even sites that offer things like this at budget beating prices. You just need to look for the offers.

That’s all you need to know about living a higher quality of life. Look for the deals, manage your budget and cut costs where you can. Do this, and you’ll soon be living the life that you want.
