Personalise Your Applications and Cover Letters

Always, always, always, personalise your applications and cover letters. Without fail! This means you’ll need to do research on the company, job and what they are looking for. You really need to make it clear that you haven’t just sent out 100s of CVs all over the place. You need it to look like you’ve solely applied for this job, because you really want it. Practice For The Interviews

Make sure you’re prepared for the interview you’re invited to. Always know what you want to get across and why you’d be a great fit not only for the job, but for the company too. Know what they are about. Get a friend to practice with you if possible. Practice will hopefully stop your nerves from getting in the way.

Make Sure You’ve Got All of the Skills

Make sure you’ve actually got the skills, or at least most of the skills needed to get the job. If you somehow manage to get to the interview stage, you could end up disappointed when they tell you then and there that you aren’t the candidate for them.

Have an Unwavering Belief That You’ll Get It

Sometimes, belief in yourself is really all it takes. If you have an unwavering but not cocky belief that you can get the job of your dreams, it has to be yours. Whether that’s right now or sometime in the near future.

Get LinkedIn And Keep It Updated

LinkedIn is a great way to get in touch with people who are hiring and other professionals. A bit like an online CV. Keep it updated and make connections. You never know where you might end up!
